[Decentraland DAO] WonderMine Multiplayer and Feature Enhancements

Hello to the DG community!

My name is maruudn and I'm the community manager for the WonderZone community in Decentraland. We're the makers of the WonderMine mining and crafting game in Decentraland. WonderMine is a social play-to-earn game where you mine meteors, collect resources and craft upgrades and rewards in the form of wearables and other NFTs. WonderMine continues to be one of the most popular locations in Decentraland, with an active and passionate community and over 1400 unique players per day. WonderMine is one of the first places new players visit, and we usually have several players mining at any given time, in addition to pulling upwards of 300 - 1000 concurrent players during our events.

While the WonderMine mining field is a popular social spot to chat in Decentraland, the gameplay is entirely singleplayer. Therefore we're applying for a DCL grant to elevate the gameplay and introduce multiplayer mechanics, as well as other feature updates and visual updates. This is why we are asking the DG community for support on our grant proposal. WonderMine, being one of the most popular games in DCL, is still bringing in new players to the platform every day. We have a very significant player retention, and with our roadmap for 2023 we hope to help even more new players come to DCL and give them a reason to return regularly. Since we had our alpha launch in 2020, we've given out nearly 20k wearables to the community, as well as over 3600 WonderZone Pickaxe NFTs. We've hosted over 20 "2x Loot Drop events" and had over a dozen collabs with other creators in the space, including DG.

Here's a quick TL;DR for our roadmap:

• By adding an event space in WonderMine, we can bring even more new players in through events and collabs, and with our gameplay we believe we can make them stay
• By adding multiplayer features to the gameplay such as shared and cooperative meteors, we make the gameplay more engaging and keep the players more involved
• By creating a more attractive Town Square central hub to WonderZone, players will get a new entry point to the game as well as a place to hang out and get information about the game as well as DCL
• Continuing to deliver wearables and WonderZone NFTs to our players gives value to the community, and keeps players coming back for more

With funding to expand the game, we're confident WonderMine will continue to be one of the top destinations in all of Decentraland, and that we can keep bringing new players into the space.
