Games' Polygon Transaction Fees

Background

The DG DAO operates a Polygon node (link: https://wallet.matic.network/staking/validators/13), which has ~$94M total Polygon staked and ~$1.4M Polygon self-staked.

The initial self-staked Polygon for the node was donated by the DG Project Lead in March and currently generate ~$40K/mon in proceeds for the DAO. To date, these funds have been re-staked in growing the DAO’s position.

Today, project runway is being used to provide Polygon to pay fees for the 8 worker wallets that pay Polygon transaction fees to operate the games. The wallet addresses are:

In July (7/1 - 7/30), ~1,800 Matic ~= $1,900 was spent for this purpose across the 8 wallets. Note: This figure can be easily verified by pulling the .csv list file for each of the individual addresses on Polyscan.

Proposal

Use DG DAO’s Polygon node proceeds to cover game transaction fees.

Rationale

Game proceeds accrue to the DAO Treasury, so it makes sense for the Treasury to cover the transaction costs to operate the games. These costs are quite small today, but, as we roll out new games and acquire many more users, we expect these to grow, so it makes sense to set up a sustainable structure today.
