DIP004: ZK Sync or Arbitrum as the Next Chain for Expansion

Summary:

Dfyn is committed to becoming a multi-chain platform by expanding its presence across various chains. We are not limiting ourselves to just one chain but aim to integrate with several chains in the long run.

We want you to help us prioritize our next chain. To this end, we have identified two prominent Layer 2 solutions: ZK Sync and Arbitrum. Cast your vote and guide us in determining which chain to focus on first in our multi-chain journey!

Benefits of ZK Sync

• High throughput: Scale up to 20,000 TPS, ensuring smooth user experience even during peak times.

• Optimistic rollup technology: Benefit from increased security and scalability without sacrificing decentralization.
• EVM compatibility: Seamless integration with Ethereum-based tools and applications.
• Growing ecosystem: Join an expanding network of prominent projects already built on Arbitrum.
• Grant support: Arbitrum has offered Dfyn a grant of 75,000 $ARB tokens, further incentivizing our expansion on their platform.

Voting Considerations

• All DFYN holders will be afforded one vote against each DFYN token they hold on Polygon. Unfortunately, DFYN token holders on Ethereum are not eligible to participate in this vote.
• Users who have staked their DFYN tokens in vaults and provided DFYN token liquidity on Dfyn Exchange (whether or not they have staked their LP tokens in any Dfyn Exchange farms) will have 1.5x voting power, i.e., they will be given 1.5 votes against each DFYN token staked. Note that the votes against DFYN LP tokens staked in other yield aggregating platforms won't be considered.
• Users who have staked their DFYN tokens in vDfyn vault will have 2x voting power, i.e., they will be given 2 votes against each DFYN token staked.
• As finalized in DIP003, only the users with a minimum balance of 100 vDFYN will be eligible to vote.
• This proposal uses the single-choice voting strategy, i.e., each voter's entire voting power can be allocated to only one of the two options.
• This proposal's snapshot was taken at 8:30 A.M UTC on Friday, May 5, 2023, at block number 42328184 on the Polygon blockchain.
• This governance event will remain live from 9:00 A.M. UTC on Friday, May 5, 2023, to 9:00 A.M. UTC on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Quorum Standards

The option accruing more than 50% of the votes will be declared as the winner.
