DIP - 89 Diffusion Team Expansion

Voting ended almost 2 years agoSucceeded

As we have built momentum and consolidated development trajectory for DopeWars, work within the DopeLabs structure has highlighted some areas that I believe could be improved to increase our likelihood of success.

The current DopeLabs structure (availability to bill up to 30hrs per month) has been great for the early stages of project development because it has accommodated contributions in a flexible manner as the work environment has fleshed itself out. It was also useful for building through the bear because it was flexible in the sense that it could scale up and down during times of busy and quiet. It was also useful, and still is in many cases, because it accommodates contributors other commitments and allowed them to contribute valuably on a basis that suited their schedule. Moving forward we have identified an area within the Diffusion space that needs more commitment to achieve the desired results. The nature of this work is constant and the production of quality engagement is imperative for success. Richblck has been leading the DAO in this field doing fantastic work as we all can see. The feeling is that this output needs to be more organised and conducted with greater overall strategy and could therefore benefit from a more consolidated and reliable approach. The somewhat ad hoc current status of DopeLabs does not lend itself well toward allowing the level of commitment, from the contributor, that is required to achieve the desired result. People need a level of certainty before they can move away from other commitments in order to ‘pay the bills’. We also have the requirement to have more consistent engagements on Twitter, and other media platforms as we progress.

This proposal seeks to authorise the expansion of the DopeLabs Diffusion team. The goal is to enable deeper commitment and obtain better results. The details are as follows:

Diffusion Team Lead:

Richblck will occupy this position working on an engagement level equivalent to 8/10ths of what would be a normal annual working arrangement. This would mean he would increase his billable hours to a maximum of 128 hrs per month. This increased level of commitment would allow him to adopt a broader and more comprehensive position with regard to DopeWars promotion, including (but not limited to) the following tasks:

Overall DopeWars marketing strategy. Development of content. Brand development. Aesthetic development Promotion platform development Messaging

Diffusion Team

The Diffusion team that sits around the table with Rich would include existing team members Cyber + Mrfax and add in the original gangster M1. This effort requires a team to deliver best results and will mean that Rich can step back from the necessary day to day grind and focus on the bigger picture. Cyber, Mrfax and M1 would all stay at the current maximum billable hours of 30 hrs per month.

This team would assist Rich with the delivery including (but not limited to) the following tasks:

Regular Twitter engagement Platform development, expand follower base Assistance with content creation Collaboration opportunities with other projects

The total amount of hours billable for the entire (expanded) Diffusion team would add up to 218 hours per month. This translates to roughly the equivalent of 135% of what would be a single full time employment arrangement. But instead of getting 1.35 people we would get 4 amazing creative brains working on the promotion of DopeWars. I believe that this task is easily a full time job, given the relentless nature of it, and that the community and project would benefit greatly from the output that these four very talented hustlers could achieve.

For you consideration
