DIP 38 - Working Groups and Creative Director

This proposal seeks to establish more formalized working groups around the DAOs core functions. Dope Wars is currently operating without any kind of organization beyond named collaborative discord channels which makes it more difficult to move quickly, have accountability, make decisions, delegate work, stay aligned, and more. The solution is to form working groups with their own multi-sig treasuries and appoint individuals to have accountability for specific work streams.

Initially I recommend the formation of three working groups: Product, Community, and Admin. I also recommend we create the position of and appoint a Creative Director who can be responsible for vision, has final say over creative decisions, and can speak on behalf of the DAO to third parties like investors and press.

Process and Features

• Every quarter each working group will submit a budget proposal as well as their quarterly goals and plans and results from the previous quarter. The DAO will vote on whether to fund or modify each budget.
• Each working group will get its own multi-sig wallet managed by the group and funded by DAO-wide proposals
• We’ll utilize DAO tools like Utopia to facilitate and track compensation across the board
• The DAO will provide each working group with tools its own private space to focus, collaborate, and ship stuff
• Leaders of working groups will be responsible for communicating to the wider DAO what’s going on in weekly chats
