DIP-107 The Commission

Dear Dope World BLUF: The Commission replaces DopeLabs and becomes entrenched as a Dope DAO Managerial body via this proposal.

Why!

1. The DAO and community can continue to DAO on important stuff.
2. The Commission can have autonomy of action in the right areas.
3. It’s time to adjust the model. (Let’s start with Point 3 - it’s the most important justification for this proposal.)

It’s time! What do I mean by this? Well, lets start by setting down some historical facts.

Fact I was there, go ahead and ask the OG’s; This Starknet Onchain Provable Gaming Autonomous World baby was born in Dope DAO Discord. Dope DAO has blasted through the bleeding edge of this ‘Participant led DAO based, fully onchain gaming AW’ idea. Smashing all the glass tearing DAO flesh hemorrhaging energy, patience (and funds!) all the way. Born immutable with an onchain treasury and baked in governance model, we set the hard edge standard of what is a walkable line towards that idealistic goal. And we walked the line.

Fact It's a miracle we made it here. Through the sheer grit, loyalty and vision of members and community, a Dope Game and primitive asset ecosystem has crystallized out of the chaos of an 8000 node parliament. All the while working around an asynchronous linear communication platform. Now we stand on the cusp of being amongst the SN FOCG heavyweights. Alongside the likes of LS2, Eternum/Blitz & Ponziland. Based.

Fact We need: i. A decent treasury, lean operations and a cohesive path forward to enhance what we have. ii. Funding. SNF makes no bones, they have tightened up their belt. Fair enough. They will still fund, but at a VC type level. We have the opportunity to make it to that tier.

BUT! We need to walk the line sober now. Not punch drunk like we have. So The Commission offers Dope World protection for what we have built so far. Four years on, out of the chaos we have spun something worth protecting. A solid base. The large DAO small decision model has taken us as far as it can. Now we can pause, consolidate, protect and set the conditions to broaden the World and keep pushing toward the ultimate goal.

Members

The Commission would consist of: Taniela (Director) Sprtn Cyber Mrfax Mazzi Sal

Although not members, Tarrence and Clicksave will be available to act as Official Advisors to The Commission. Especially for advice on matters of development. Between these 8 OG’s we have all the skills needed to get this job done.

Duties & Powers i. The Commission would hold managerial duties on behalf of Dope DAO including; Custody and management of accounts: Discord, Telegram, Notion, Web Hosting, Email and Web Domain, X, Github, Snapshot, Tally. ii. Custody and management of development funds and liquidity assets. Continue the responsibility to manage the Treasury funds described in DIP-103 then responsibility and autonomy to use those as development funds to develop Dope World. iii. The ability to negotiate and contract with bodies for further funding and then ability to use them to develop Dope World. iv. The Commission can continue to use Snapshot voting as a heat-check apparatus when it deems suitable. The Commission can have autonomy of action in the right areas.

Restrictions i. The DAO $Paper treasury will remain onchain and subject to complete DAO vote via the full Official Proposal Process for distribution/alignment or use of any kind. The DAO and Community can continue to DAO on important stuff. The Commission needs autonomy of action to make $Paper valuable but the DAO and Community retains the ability to make strategic decisions on large developer alignment into Dope World.

Formation and Dissolution Criteria The formation of The Commission will require a change to the Dope DAO Operating Agreement. The proposed amendment states that The Commission is established by proposal for a maximum term of 4 years or a term as outlined in the criteria upon which it would dissolve. Bottom line - This is a better structure to make sure we achieve our ultimate dream of bringing forth Dope World. We have to be clever with cohesive focus towards tangible outcomes to survive the next round. The crazy 8000 node parliament DAO melting pot has done its job well. This next step will see us box with a plan instead of relying upon a punchers’ chance.
