DIP-29: Emergency Marketing Spend Increase

SUMMARY

This proposal seeks to immediately build on DIP-19 and allocate 7 ETH + 100k PAPER more to the Marketing Wallet budget for two rush projects…

1. Obtaining DOPE NFT gear to build a custom hustler we will auction off during All-Star Weekend in collaboration with Baron Davis cross promoting his History of The Game project. (Between 1.5 - 3.5 ETH)
2. Minting 10 Zodiac Masks to store and use for future giveaways and contests. (~1eth + 50k PAPER)

GOALS

Recruit at least 1,000 new community members to Discord Grow Twitter following to 20k. Grow TG members to 2500. Spread useful information about the Dope Wars Ecosystem using Twitter

PROPOSED PLAN 1: Baron Davis Charity Auction

In collaboration with Baron Davis (Legendary NBA player, 1M Twitter followers, experienced with NFTs) we will obtain DOPE NFT items and gear to construct a 1 of 1 custom Hustler in his likeness, and auction the Hustler off for charity. All proceeds will be donated to The Last Prisoner Project – whose mission is to free all prisoners of the war on cannabis.

• This auction will take place over All Star Weekend, which happens THIS SUNDAY Feb 20th. Baron will announce the auction and promote DOPE WARS during the weekend.
• Baron’s new project History Of The Game will provide showcase space in their metaverse for Dope Wars Hustlers
• We will run banners for History Of The Game on our site, and on DOPE TV.
• All proceeds will be donated to The Last Prisoner Project; to do some good in the world and firmly establish our stance that Dope Wars is seeking to break down cultural stigmas that have harmed communities of color disproportionately during the failed War On Drugs.

Obtaining DOPE NFTS

We have been given the OK to recreate Baron’s likeness, in a basketball jersey from a team he has represented in the past. Because of the way our on-chain artwork system is implemented; we are seeking to obtain either a Basketball Jersey “from Compton” (UCLA), “from Oakland” (Warriors), or “from The Bayou” (Charlotte Hornets) to create custom artwork for this Hustler. We’re also seeking to purchase a Lowrider to pair with this custom Hustler auction.

There are only a few NFTs for sale that meet this criteria. The lowest combination being ~ 1.5 eth, and the highest somewhere around 3.5 eth. We are not listing the potential acquisition targets here to prevent front-running.

Auction

We will auction a single DOPE NFT on OpenSea, and all the proceeds will go to the Dope DAO, then be donated to The Last Prisoner Project. The Dope NFT, and Hustler will be transferred to the winner’s wallet.

PROPOSED PLAN 2: Zodiac Mask Mint

To ensure Dope Wars has enough material for future giveaways, it’s also being proposed that the DAO Marketing wallet mints 10 Zodiac masks for future giveaways during the course of this year.
