Spice DAO Animation Inc. is ready to sign a legally binding contract with Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Phil Gelatt who has agreed to write the official Series Bible for our original animated limited series and, when the production is produced or picked up, be its sole writer.

Proposal

Phil Gelatt will join the development of our original animated limited series by adapting, in whole or in part, the underlying material from the properties legally acquired by Spice DAO Animation Inc. based on the results of the Writing Competition Final (Snapshot passed Feb. 9, 2022) into an official Series Bible and, when the production is produced or picked up, be its sole writer.

Philip Gelatt is an American film screenwriter, director and producer. In 2021 he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program for writing the episode "Ice" from Season 1 of "Love, Death + Robots" on Netflix. He co-wrote and co-directed the 2D adult animated dark fantasy horror film "The Spine of Night" which premiered at South By Southwest in 2021 where it was acquired by Shudder, a streaming service owned by RLJE Films. In 2016 he won the Writers Guild of America’s Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing for "Rise Of The Tomb Raider" on Xbox One. He is represented by WME.

Core Team members Charlie Fang and Kortelin will communicate with Phil on a daily basis as representatives of Spice DAO which is executive producing the series. We are excited to pioneer decentralized storytelling and world-building as a new form of collaborative media that is directed, steered and owned by the community itself.

Budget & Schedule

Spice DAO Animation Inc. will guarantee Phil Gelatt $100,000 for his services. Paid via wire transfer to WME.
