Tashka Animation

Voting ended about 4 years agoSucceeded

TL;DR

Ben Clarkson will create a fully rendered 60 second silent 2D animation in color based on the concept of Tashka from “Frontier South”, the series bible written by Manxome that won 2nd Place in our Writing Competition.

Proposal

Create an animated interpretation of the concept of Tashka from “Frontier South”. A fully rendered 60 second silent 2D animation in color will take 3 months to complete. Ben will be in regular communication with the Core Team who will share his progress on Spice DAO social media to present a behind the scenes look at what it takes to create an animated work.

Ben is an animator living in Montreal, Canada. His 2D animated music videos have been shown on NPR, Revolt TV, Time, Adult Swim and Vice. His animated work can be viewed here: https://thebenclarkson.com/video-projects

Budget & Schedule

2,000 USDC per week for 12 weeks = 24,000 USDC

Spice DAO will own 100% of the rights to the animated work and can monetize it accordingly.

  • March 2022 - Concept, initial designs and storyboards
  • April 2022 - Animation
  • May 2022 - Animation / Finished product delivered

Request

The Core Team has been talking to Ben for over 1 month now after he introduced himself in our Discord. He is a rare talent that is a one man army, single-handedly doing the work that animation studios employ dozens of people to execute. Ben’s proposal is a derivative project building on original IP the DAO acquired in our Writing Competition. This synergy between artistic community members, between writer and artist, is the foundation of the DAO’s future activities. We are very excited to sponsor this proposal!
