The current system for Degen Zoo was based on that of Logan Pauls CryptoZoo. The goal that we communicated from the very beginning was to prove that his game can be developed in a short time, however, the model itself isn't very good tbh. Now that the goal has been achieved we suggest moving to a better game strategy.
The current game has an average inflation of 50% ROI over 140 days. Players earn the most ROI at the end of the game, not at the start.
Most players hatch one animal, see low ROI after 100 days of lock, and leave.
Showing 85% of the total ROI at the start should lead to better user conversion. Players can then continue playing the game to optimize for the last 15%
The goal of the game is to grow up your animals from baby (level 1) to adult (level 3). Once the animal has reached level 3 the players can then claim all their profits.
Killing a level 1 animal will result in a 10% loss of initial staked tokens.
Killing a level 2 animal will result in no loss but also no profits.
Killing a level 3 animal will result in full profits after 24 hrs.
Players can boost their ROI by combining animals with similar ROI when evolving. Players can earn up to 10% ROI boost. The closer the ROI is of the two animals the higher the bonus. Combining the same animal will give a bonus of 13%. This feature incentives players to hatch more animals as well as trade amongst players.
Comparing the old and new proposed systems:
This new version of the game is:
Median hatch ROI is 16%, meaning if you hatch an animal you probably get 16% ROI. You can increase your ROI by evolving your animals. When you evolve into an animal you increase the ROI to about 50% with 4 animals
Example: 4 same animals with 15% ROI and 10k hatch
Lvl 1 + Lvl 1 = 11.5k + 11.5K * AVG(1.15, 1.15)
= 23k * 1,15 = Lvl 2 with 26.4k Tokens, 15% ROI
Lvl 2 + Lvl 2 = 26.4k + 26.4k avg(1.15, 1.15)
= 52,900 tokens for Lvl 3
Then you have to wait 100 days to kill level 3 and get 60,830 tokens.
Profit = 52% ROI
Keep old model as it is, but increase the speed by 50%
Most people agree that we should reduce the average hatch price. Option 3 will keep the whole game the same and only reduce the hatch price by 50% by increasing the total animal population to 90,000.
If this vote passes, early hatchers will all receive fewer tokens per animal than all future players. Of course, if the game works, the price goes up which is good for early hatchers, but still, there is a clear conflict of interest when existing animal holder vote.
Ensuring fair vote
If the proposal gets approved then all animal holders will be given the difference between their animal and the ROI that the animal would have received in the new game.
So if someone has an artic wolf then his wallet will be whitelisted with the difference between the current tokens and the tokens with the new multiplier. These tokens would then be given on a vesting contract with linear unlock to distribute the selling pressure over 2 months.
