Core Contributor Compensation Proposal

Summary Camp Elektra DAO will compensate core contributors a total of 5 ETH for the work, participation, and dedication over the last three months. We aim to set a precedent that honors our values and mission to acknowledge these members for their artistry, creativity, and experimentation.

Motivation We’ve had a core group of contributors that have been dedicated for the last few months, and before we enter Songcamp's Camp Chaos, we see the opportunity to set a precedent (even if it is retroactive) to compensate all of us that have been here. This is a chance to show that we are willing to fund artists as people and not solely as human resources for projects.

It feels urgent: If we enter Camp Chaos without compensating our core contributors, then that lack of compensation in Elektra will set its own precedent.

Specification We will begin with a community sync up during our Wednesday call to discuss Coordinape and provide a framework for how we distribute GIVE. We will then begin the Coordinape flow, giving community members the opportunity to go through the flow, distribute GIVE, and offer comments to team members.

At the following Wednesday call, we will share and discuss the results of the Coordinape flow, as well as give community members a final opportunity to do theirs. We will reflect on our GIVE decisions and the last three months of work as well. At the end of this community call, we will close the Coordinape. Funds will be distributed the following day.

Timeline + Checkpoints

March 9 : Community Call - Vote on this proposal, then community sync to provide a loose framework for how we distribute give.

March 10 : Begin Coordinape flow (Opt-In)

March 16 : Community Call - Share results of Coordinape flow and have open conversation about whether everyone is comfortable with what they gave/received. Close Coordinape flow at the end of the call

March 17 : Distribute 5 ETH in accordance with Coordinape results

Use of funds Funds will be used to compensate core contributors from the past 3 months. The contributions include experimental work on new stories, as well as preparing the Supernova for release.

Team Members and Roles The stewards for this initiative are Jack Rome and Will Juergens. Please reach out to either of them or add your name to the previous sentence if you would like to assist with any of the checkpoints listed above.

Who are the Core Contributors? These are community members and/or token holders that have “been around.” Even if a contributor hasn’t been fully active for the entire last three months, they’re still eligible to be part of the Coordinape flow if they’ve had meaningful participation as recognized by any or all members.

Please note that being eligible for the flow does not mean you are opted in for the flow. Each individual on this list has the choice of whether to opt in or out of receiving GIVE.

This list was compiled by evaluating the Discord over specifically the last three months to see who has been active in the chat, present for calls, and/or part of project teams. If your name is not on this list and you feel it should be, please contact any or all of the stewards. We want to make sure that all contributors feel valued and respected for their meaningful contributions to this community since December.

Accountability Our team will provide updates on our milestones as we make progress. In the event that our checkpoints are delayed, we will still honor the distribution of funds to core contributors in accordance with the Coordinape flow.

Drawbacks and Challenges Coordinape is an amazing tool but it isn’t without flaws. It’s possible there may be people who feel they are overlooked. Hopefully synching our intentions going into the flow will eliminate potential for friction.

We are also committing to using half of our current budget for this. We need not take that too lightly. This is a commitment to returning after Camp CHAOS and doing our best to put our new frameworks (team a b and c) to work in order to become profitable and functional.

Benefits We have yet to pay ourselves for showing up and continuing to water the seeds planted during camp Elektra. We have built up a lot of momentum over the past few months and have a lot of exciting initiatives to step back into on the other side of camp CHAOS. However, it’s important that we set a precedent that our time and intention in Elektra has value.
