The team is aware that playing at the end of the 2D ladders is strategically advantageous under the current ELO system. Depending upon where you are in the world, the ladder end times might not be ideal. Since we have players all around the world, we believe a change is necessary.
As such, the core team is proposing to re-implement a ladder structure from the past called Steel Wall (a.k.a King of the Hill) that will reward the player that has been in the number 1 position for the longest duration over the previous week’s tournament for each ladder.
To reward the Steel Wall Winner, we propose to reduce the winnings from the top 5 positions for ladders 2-6 by 20% and pay the winnings to the Steel wall winner for each ladder.
