The War Council would like to amend the EtherOrcsDAO Operating Model in the following way/s:
- DAO Community members volunteering to serve on the War Council can do so for X consecutive terms
- The current operating model has 2 as the consecutive terms.
- X == As many terms as a DAO Community Member/s wants to where:
- New Applicants have not volunteered
and/or
- They are in the top Y spots on votes in the proposal where:
- Up to four new DAO community members can join the War Council in any given election
- Up to three currently sitting War Council members can continue to serve
The idea here is that some synergies are kept, allowing up to 3 current War Council members to stay while allowing new DAO community members to join up to 4, meaning the new members will hold majority. This provides the DAO the ability to effectively "Vote out" the current council. We felt that keeping three previous members is important to transition important items to and guide new DAO community members joining.
Let me provide some examples to help illustrate the above verbiage (Feel free to chime in with clearer verbiage if you believe the above is not clear:
- Example 1:
- Four DAO Community members who are not currently on the War Council submit applications to join
- Four current sitting War Council members volunteer to serve again (and have served > 2 consecutive terms already)
- In this example, the four new DAO community members will join the War Council and the top 3 current sitting War Council members will stay on .
- Example 2:
- Five DAO Community members who are not currently on the War Council submit applications to join
- Six current sitting War Council members volunteer to serve again (and have served > 2 consecutive terms already)
- In this example, the top four new DAO community members by vote on the proposal will join the War Council and the top 3 current sitting War Council members will stay on.
- The bottom three War Council members and bottom 1 DAO Community member will not join the WC this election.
