[Governance Poll] Automatic Surcharge on Donut Initiatives for Transaction Organizers

Voting ended over 1 year agoSucceeded

Reason:

To ensure that the work of generating and organizing transactions for distributing rewards in Donut Initiatives (DI) is compensated, a proposal is being made to institute an automatic surcharge on all Donut Initiatives. This surcharge will cover the efforts of the person responsible for crafting the transactions that distribute DONUT/CONTRIB awards that the multisig team then signs on. This proposal is not to compensate the multisig signers, only the party that creates the transactions.

Proposal:

Institute an automatic surcharge on all Donut Initiatives, amounting to the larger of the following two amounts:

2.5% of the DONUT/CONTRIB the DI pays out, or

2,500 DONUT/CONTRIB.

These funds will be disbursed to the individual responsible for organizing the transactions and distributing the DI DONUT/CONTRIB rewards.

Advantages:

Provides fair compensation for the work of transaction processing and reward distribution.

Encourages active participation in organizing Donut Initiative payouts by ensuring efforts are rewarded.

Sets a clear, consistent system for compensating contributors responsible for managing transaction logistics.

Disadvantages:

May slightly reduce the total DONUT/CONTRIB rewards available to DI participants due to the surcharge.

Could introduce additional complexity for smaller Donut Initiatives with limited payout amounts.

Voting Options:

[YES] – Support the proposal to institute the automatic surcharge.

[NO] – Oppose the proposal and maintain the current system without an automatic surcharge.

[ABSTAIN] – No opinion on the proposal.
