Grant Flywheel DeFi $18k worth of IQ over the course of 3 months to promote and expand awareness of BrainDAO through cross-media collaboration.

Background

Flywheel DeFi is a grassroots media platform dedicated to promoting the Frax ecosystem as well as covering up and coming projects and topics in the realm of DeFi and stablecoins. Starting in June 2022, Flywheel has grown to over 3.9k followers on Twitter and 1.7k subscribers on YouTube. Coming out with content daily, our most popular programming includes our flagship Flywheel, our weekly Frax Check, our weekly Frax in Review, op-eds, and general ecosystem coverage. Flywheel is one of the fastest growing and respected media platforms in all of DeFi and boasts an audience of DeFi-savy and information hungry users.

BrainDAO is the governing DAO of the IQ ecosystem including iq.wiki, a blockchain and cryptocurrency focused encyclopedia. The beauty of iq.wiki is that it allows people and projects within crypto to have a truly neutral source of information that is of the quality of an encyclopedia yet without the strenuous notability requirements compared to other platforms.

Overview

We propose for Flywheel to receive $18k worth of IQ over the next 3 months to engage in the following activities:

• Feature IQ yields in Frax Check: 12 episodes ($500 per episode) via having a section in Frax Check covering IQ/FRAX yield and HiIQ.
• Mention Brain DAO in the description of our flagship Flywheel podcast for 12 episodes ($500 per episode)
• Consult and recommend wikis to Brain DAO to create in order to improve diversity and quality of the content ($6k Total). These wikis can of past guests that we share as a “wiki of the week” or similar. Include wikis featured in description if available/when relevant.

In order to align incentives between Brain DAO and Flywheel DeFi, 30% of the IQ will be staked for one year. Of the other 70%, half will be sent at the beginning of the grant while the remaining 35% will be sent after the grant is complete.

About Us

Flywheel DeFi is the leading source for Frax updates and DeFi commentary. Launching in the wake of the collapse of TerraLuna, Flywheel has become the de facto media arm covering Frax, releasing multiple weekly programs about the protocol as well as distributing its flagship Flywheel podcast interviewing some of the most notable figures in the space.

DeFi Dave is an IQ.wiki alum, having spent over four years working at Everipedia and is a founding team member. Dave is uniquely equipped to understand the current needs of Brain DAO as it was his job for many years to author wikis. As someone who is at the cutting edge of crypto, Dave can bring his experience and influence to the table in order to increase engagement toward Brain DAO and its products.
