FGP-1: CELEBe Reward Allocation Priority. Watch to Earn or Create to Earn First?

Proposal Summary

When you post a video on CELEBe, views accumulate and rewards follow. There's the reward a creator earns after staying up all night to make a single video, and the reward a user earns for watching that video for ten minutes. How much each of these should be has, until now, been decided by the team. We want to make this decision together with the community.

This is the first proposal in FANC governance. We're asking the community where to focus first in the next development cycle: Watch to Earn (W2E) or Create to Earn (C2E).

This vote is non-binding. The FANC team will publish the results within 48 hours and report back on how they were reflected in the next roadmap.

CELEBe's Two Core Reward Structures

FANC has been growing CELEBe for over four years since its first listing in July 2022. More than 7 million users have gathered, and within that base, two reward structures run side by side.

Watch to Earn (W2E) lets users earn FANC rewards simply by watching content on CELEBe. It drives new user acquisition and everyday engagement. The more people watching the platform, the larger the ecosystem grows on the surface.

Create to Earn (C2E) lets creators earn FANC rewards by producing and posting content. It raises the quality of content and the loyalty of creators. There has to be someone making good content for there to be something worth watching, and there has to be something worth watching for viewers to gather.

Why This Vote Matters

It may look like a chicken or egg question, but it isn't. A platform always has one side that needs to be invested in first, and which side you grow first shapes the very character of the platform.

That's why YouTube and TikTok, which both started out as short form, became entirely different platforms.

Right now, FANC Hub is opening, SBTs are being issued, and FANC Station is going live. At this moment, with the infrastructure all coming online at once, we have to decide where the center of gravity for rewards should sit. The team doesn't want to make this call alone. The community's choice will decide the next direction.

Guide to the Options

1. C2E first: Expand creator rewards. Help more of the people who make good content stay.
2. W2E first: Expand viewer rewards. Bring in more of the people who watch the platform.
3. Equal priority: Pursue both in parallel. Let the team find the optimal balance.

Holding FANC means more than simply owning a token, and this vote is the first chance to show that.

Governance doesn't begin with strict rules. It begins with a single proposal. FANC governance runs on Snapshot, the standard platform for Web3 governance, and any FANC holder can take part.

We began our first CEX trading on July 19, 2022, at 10:00 (UTC). Now, just one month before our fourth anniversary, we begin our first governance vote on June 19 at 10:00 (UTC).
