There has been a deep discussion on tokenomics and FNX inflation on our forum. As suggested by community members, before we can vote on a precise plan, the first essential decision to make is whether there should be a change to the current mining incentives at all.

Here is a breakdown of key elements involved in voting either yes or no:

Why voting 'Yes'

• The basic mining reward on Ethereum is currently 20,000 cFNX/day. The average lockup period is 30 months, with a 14x boosting factor in mining. The mining reserves may easily be exhausted in 10 months, leaving no flexibility for incentives in future liquidity pools and products.
• The inflation rate is too high. This is not conducive to sustainable growth. In fact, it may lead to serious issues with the current FNX token model.
• The early contributors have already enjoyed a high APY and an eventual adjustment will be fair to all users.
• Healthy inflation is likely to lead to a healthy behavior of the token price and support a favorable APY in mining.

Why voting 'No'

• The APY of the current participants will be undermined and it may discourage early contributors.
• The new mining mechanism has only come online two months ago and a change may discourage FNX believers and raise doubts about the sustainability of our monetary policy.
• Users who locked FNX in the FPO for a long time may be dismayed.

Please keep in mind: 'Yes' means you are for the adjustments to the mining incentives. 'No' means you are against the adjustments to the mining incentives. If the proposal is passed, we will have another vote on how to make the adjustments.
