SHOULD A DEADLINE BE SET FOR RETURNING EXCESS TOKENS FROM V1 INFLATION BUG?

The Floki DAO voted months ago that blacklisted wallets that benefited from the V1 inflation bug should return the excess tokens they got due to the inflation bug to the Floki multisig.

It’s been five months since the vote passed. This means there has been enough time given to the affected parties to act.

This is a proposal to set a deadline for when the blacklist committee should stop responding to new requests from those affected and conclusively bring this chapter to an end.

If this vote passes, the deadline for blacklisted wallets to send in excess tokens they got will be September 12, 2022.

Wallets on the blacklist that fail to send in their tokens by this deadline would not be attended to after that date. This means they will be on the blacklist permanently.

Users who have sent in their tokens prior to this vote, or prior to the September 12 deadline, will not be affected and will continue to receive their rightful tokens according to their individual vesting schedules.

Why this vote?

It’s been five months since the original vote passed, which is more than enough time for anyone affected to have acted.

It is impractical and impossible to deal with these requests indefinitely.

It is in the best interest of Floki to stop dealing with these requests after a certain time as the committee can’t be in place forever. Hence, this vote is being proposed for the sake of efficiency.

If this vote passes, the September 12, 2022 deadline will come into effect and the committee will not respond to new requests to be removed from the blacklist after that date.

What happens to blacklisted wallets after the deadline?

They will remain permanently blacklisted and can no longer be removed from the blacklist or vested.
