HIP-18: Fund the role of Head of Operations (Formerly Scribe)

Summary of the Proposal:

The Forgotten Council seeks to re-hire r3ptar in the role of Head of Operations (formerly Scribe) to facilitate communication, ensure transparency, and manage documentation among the Forgotten Council, the Ministries, and the House of Wizards Foundation. The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations to ensure the DAO runs effectively and overall supporting the DAO community's needs.

Budget Request: $40,000. This includes:

• $29,000 to finance the role until requested budget is depleted, based on an estimated 10 hours/week to accommodate flexibility in hours and potential currency volatility. This would allow for ~48 weeks of work but possibly more if there are slow weeks with little work.
  • Compensation: $60/hour, payable in ETH or USDC, twice a month.
• Special Allocation: A one-time payment of $11,000 for 220 hours of prior work by r3ptar since 8/25/23.

• Weekly attendance and note-taking at Forgotten Council Meetings.
• Reviewing and negotiating service contracts and agreements.
• Maintaining and updating the accounting ledger and Notion site.
• Managing the how-dao Discord channel’s communications and inquiries.
• Supporting all Ministries with their documentation and administrative needs.
• Developing and implementing strategic operational plans
• Identifying areas for operational improvements and implementing changes to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Treasury management
• Ensuring all operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and managing risks to the DAO
• Develop and refine governance structures and processes to ensure they are transparent and effective
• Encourage a culture where members feel empowered to propose new ideas and initiatives
• Manage vendors
• Timeline: This is an ongoing role with an initial commitment of 10 hours per week, with the flexibility to extend as needed.
