Project Lead and Team Information:

Lead: @nftsasha, also a fullstack dev with 15+ years experience. Art lead: @ozzzmabro, founder of The Atelier. Blockchain dev: TBD (possibly vmark, in discussions). Promo art: @TheArtOfGriff, internationally renowned. Music: @danielkobylarz, of Kathy Rain fame.

Most of us have been in web3 for awhile, love FRWC, and want to make a game that not only puts ourselves on an incredible career path but also makes the cult proud. We're gamers and passionate storytellers, each an expert in our area with several years of experience.

Summary of Project:

Unchained is a massive multiplayer dungeon crawler for degens who are too busy to play infinite-grind games yet want a chance to win big in a fun, fair competition free of ponzinomics. The prize pool is flat 50% of mint revenue (estimated $500K for Season 1), and whoever kills the dragon first gets $100k (20%) of that.

This is a web-based MUD that can be played on any device from anywhere - a toilet, a bus seat, or a swanky coffee shop - with web3 features layered in. Kill, shake down, or trade with other players and hunt for legendary items and tokens. However, plan your moves carefully as moves per day are limited to avoid abuse by bots and hardcore players.

It's kind of like Fantasy Top, except you don't have to tweet, all have equal chance, and you are in full control of winning or losing. It's kind of like Crypto the Game, with one big winner, except many more people can win more than they invested, and all can also find epic and legendary gear that rolls over into next season.

Project Goals:

This game is an attempt at wrapping beautifully dark pieces of Runiverse lore into a mass-market, nostalgic package that everyone can be a part of.

Outside of potentially big returns to the DAO, we hope the game can also put more eyes on Runiverse.

Specifications:

August: Pre-alpha: can support at least 50 concurrent players, the dungeon has hundreds of rooms + at least one mini boss + the main boss, the player can reach at least level 5, at least 6 monster types are present of various levels/difficulty, and the game has at least a persistent database + has committed to a blockchain.

Oct: Beta: can support hundreds of players, the dungeon map + game features are 90% done, blockchain code is finished and going through audit.

Funds Requested:

$11,000 GAME CODE nftsasha Frontend, logic (systems, mechanics, etc), and DB/backend. About $1.8k/month assuming 6 months until launch.

$8,000 BLOCKCHAIN CODE TBD Currently in discussions with vmark who worked part-time with Magic Machine on The Battle for Goblin Town and on Tenderize liquidity protocol; no commitments yet at time of DAO proposal submission.

$10,000 PIXEL ART Ozzz Artistic direction, visual id, in-game artwork (characters, objects, gear), storytelling pieces, and more.

$3,500 PROMO ART Matt Griffin This may include concept art and some help with music.

$1,800 MUSIC Daniel Kobylarz About $90 per minute of music. We need a few battle tracks, a login page track, and one track per boss.

$700 OTHER Infrastructure, subscriptions & licenses, miscellaneous.

Total: $35,000 Payment schedule: 2/3 ($23,000) now, 1/3 ($12,000) at pre-alpha if by that time the waitlist/email newsletter list is at least 1,000 people long.
