TL;DR

The Ops Pod is the group responsible for coordinating operations of the core team and special projects. This includes paying for essential infrastructure (like software licenses) as well as project management (a core function of everything being performed here.

Under the new constitution, the DAO isn’t paying individual members under a payroll system any longer, instead giving out grants tied to performance. To this end, the Ops Pod opts to let FreeOpsDAO manage their payroll responsibilities. FreeOpsDAO is a subDAO of FreeRossDAO established to manage the payroll of the operators in the core team (multisigners: Jess___#3861 schlomo.eth#2887 and rizzn#4975).

DESCRIPTION

Overview

The new constitution ratified and voted in under proposal seven does not allow for ongoing payment of core team members. In response to this, those that are currently responsible for keeping on the lights have created a subDAO (called FreeOpsDAO) that will manage the minutiae of keeping the lights on with critical infrastructure and personnel in the Ops, Social and Marketing pods.

The rest of this proposal will describe a set of core responsibilities for the Ops Pod to execute under the administration of FreeOpsDAO.

Personnel Budget

Personnel budgets should be looked at as a max spend, not a guaranteed burn rate. Everyone listed here has contributed to this DAO in both a paid and unpaid capacity and has proven to be more than economical with their time. Folks in the ops group are generally called upon by other pods or special projects to help coordinate efforts and generally improve the efficiency of our work.

Since it’s likely that, from time to time, operators will not work enough hours to reach their pay cap, any unused portion of the budget will be sent back to FreeRossDAO less 10% to incentivize frugality with the operating funds.

Ops Pod Leader: Rizzn Comp: 85 USDC/hr (not to exceed 4.5K USDC/month)

Rizzn is a tech luminary, IBM Futurist, creative agency owner, and veteran tech journalist (an alumn of Mashable, SiliconANGLE and TheCUBE). He currently serves as the Director of Blockchain for GeoSyn Mining, Devs Pod leader at UkraineDAO and has been a leader at FreeRossDAO since Q4 2021. He’s been a bitcoiner since 2011.

Project Coordinator: Jinxie Comp: 45 USDC/hr (not to exceed 4.5K USDC/month)

Jinxie is a career project manager and coordinator, with experience leading large scale projects at West Point, Salesforce, and T-Mobile as well as blockchain firms Roger Wilco and Veritoken. She’s been in crypto and bitcoin since 2013.

Ops Advisor and Project Coordinator: Hamilton Comp: 55 USDC/hr (not to exceed 4.5K USDC/month)

Eric Hamilton is an advocate for organizational learning, innovation, and product improvement. With a unique combination of product, engineering, and operations experience, Hamilton is recognized for the ability to bring together seemingly unrelated concepts, ideas, and organizational functions to create new possibilities that result in successful outcomes.

Software and Tools Budget $5000 per quarter. This includes a variety of tools for the team, including but not limited to site hosting fees for our various tools, project management and CRM tools, software licenses for various automation and productivity tools.

Bounties Budget. $3000 in $FREE per quarter. A key arrow in the quiver of the social team is bounties paid in free. A goal of the DAO is to have more mission-aligned DAO members holding and voting with their $FREE, so that the DAO can comfortably make the shift to quadratic voting on governance proposals. The goal is to put a large number of tokens into members’ hands, not a large dollar amount, so $1000 per month of $FREE tokens should be sufficient for this purpose.

MISSION ALIGNMENT

This is aligned with all three pillars of our mission, since without operations keeping the lights on, there is no DAO.

BUDGET

$35,000 per quarter.

SUNSET

One year from the date this proposal is passed via snapshot vote, or alternatively when superseded by an successor Ops Pod proposal.

SUCCESS METRIC

The pod assists in at least one mission aligned project per quarter as a project coordinator or project manager.

$FREE REWARD

If this proposal meets its success metrics, 5,000 $FREE will be awarded to each of the named personnel in this proposal per quarter.
