TL;DR:

Grow In The Dark Genesis Mintpass NFT (“the Mintpass”) is a collection of ~320 1/1 black and white stills from Ross’ animation Grow In The Dark, purchased by FreeRossDAO at the Bitcoin22 auction.

The DAO’s Mintpass will achieve these goals:

• Bring new funds into the treasury
• Bring new members into the DAO
• Recoup up to ~30% of the cost of the purchase of “Grow in the Dark,” from the Growth Collection.
• Generate more direct funding to the Ulbricht Trust
• Bring #FreeRoss issues to a wider native nft audience

DESCRIPTION:

The aim of this proposal is to provide funding for the marketing, launch and sale of our DAO’s first NFT series to be sold to the public, based around the IP we acquired in the auction during Bitcoin Miami ‘22 in the animation: Grow in the Dark.

Part of our marketing strategy is to partner with Wevr Studios for an in-person installation and activation based on the original vision conceived of for the display of Grow in the Dark that made such an impact at the Bitcoin Miami gallery, but this time in VR: a solitary confinement cell with three activation areas, including a way to view Grow in the Dark in sensory isolation, much how we originally envisioned.

What we achieve after NYC is two-fold: Grow In The Dark VR Experience can now be sent on the road to all our cities to help bring awareness to Ross and get more eyes on FRD. We will also now have the assets built for any multiverse needs that people want to use them with such as for Decentraland and Sandbox.

Each Grow In The Dark Genesis Mintpass NFT will consist of:

• A frame from Ross Ulbricht’s “grow in the dark” as part of the Genesis Mint Pass launch on ethereum blockchain.
• Added to allowlist for pre-release access to our future drops as well as our upcoming marketplace.
• A chance to receive a special 1/1 “remix” by artists teaming up with us for this launch.
• Physical goods package included at mint (stickers/flipbook/railroaded).

FIXED BUDGET AND PAYOUT SCHEDULE

$4,000 Venue $5,000 Travel and lodging. $1,000 Printed materials. $1,000 On site personnel for manning the VR equipment. $1,000 PR work promoting the event. 2 ETH for listing fees. $86,000 [for the VR installation experience and 3d assets] The total budget will be $98,000 (plus 2 ETH). 25% of fees should be paid to the designated wallet address up front to cover reservations and travel expenses.

Expected returns from a sold out mint pass: 105 ETH.

This project is termed, and is set to launch at the end of June. Sunset date: December 2022

SUCCESS METRIC

Success is selling out the Genesis Mint Pass collection.
