Proposal 12: Social Media Pod Budget

TL;DR

Through organic interaction we can build a community culture that contributes to the mission.

The Social Media Pod is integral to the growth and engagement of the community, social media is FreeRossDAO’s main outreach into the community, and brings people in who want to get involved.

Under the new constitution, the DAO isn’t paying individual members under a payroll system any longer, instead giving out grants tied to performance. To this end, the Social Pod opts to let FreeOpsDAO manage their payroll responsibilities. FreeOpsDAO is a subDAO of FreeRossDAO established to manage the payroll of the operators in the core team (multisigners: Jess___#3861 schlomo.eth#2887 and rizzn#4975).

DESCRIPTION

Overview

The new constitution ratified and voted in under proposal seven does not allow for ongoing payment of core team members. In response to this, those that are currently responsible for keeping on the lights have created a subDAO (called FreeOpsDAO) that will manage the minutiae of keeping the lights on with critical infrastructure and personnel in the Ops, Social and Marketing pods.

The rest of this proposal will describe a set of core responsibilities for the Social Pod to execute under the administration of FreeOpsDAO.

Personnel Budget

Social Media Pod Leader: Jess Jordan Social Media & Community Management Comp: 50 USDC/hr (not to exceed 4.5K USDC/month)

Former Investigative Analyst at Apple. Currently Social Media Brand Management and Entertainment Broadcasting. Early adopter of bitcoin. Educated in Social Justice Activism, including Criminal Justice Reform and Prison Abolition. Experience with incarcerated loved ones.

Pod Sidekick: Prosper (Prosperish) Discord Master & Graphic Design Comp: 25 USDC/hr (not to exceed 4K USDC/month) Activist Workshop Organizer, Trained Dialogue Facilitator, Seeds of Peace Paradigm Shifter Program Alumni, Cross-Platform Brand and Community Management.

Doer of Things: Jacob (Thingerthing) Audio Engineer & Youtube Manager Comp: 25 USDC/hr (not to exceed 2K USDC/month)

Skilled Audio Engineer & Active Youtube Manager. Published musician, crypto native with seven years experience.

Idea Incubation: Marta (Buttercup) Book Club and Meme Production Comp: 50 USDC/hr (not to exceed 2K USDC/month) Bitcoiner, Ross supporter and Storyteller with great interest in using artivisim to bring awareness to injustices.

Software and Tools Budget $0 No specific budget needed for software and tools additional to what is already covered in the Ops Pod budget proposal.

Bounties Budget. $8,000 in $FREE per quarter.

A key arrow in the quiver of the social team is bounties paid in $FREE. The goal of these particular bounties would be to increase community engagement, amplify education about Ross’ case and reward the members who invest time in growing our community. Examples of said bounties could be giveaways, participation rewards, and things of this nature. Putting these FREE in the community’s hands would also distribute voting power to the most active members of the community, and serve as an incentive for others to join.

MISSION ALIGNMENT

The Goal of the Social Media team is to support the goals of the FreeRossDAO and engage with our community to make it welcoming for contributors to get active and involved themselves, and to create A DAO culture of peace, love, and freedom. Social media and community management is a staple of running a DAO, and required to have a thriving and prosperous DAO.

One year from the date this proposal is passed via snapshot vote, or alternatively when superseded by a successor Social Pod proposal.

SUCCESS METRIC

Create an increased number of active and engaged community members, and social media and community projects (i.e. book club, podcasts, letter writing parties, etc).

$FREE REWARD

If this proposal meets its success metrics, 5,000 $FREE will be awarded to each of the named personnel in this proposal per quarter.
