Many people of color in finance and technology find these industries inaccessible. In a world where individuals often feel commodified, the need to highlight the contributions and perspectives of people of color in web3 is pressing. Despite increased representation, their work is often overlooked, and finding supportive communities can be challenging. Our initiative aims to bridge this gap by showcasing individuals at ETHDenver 2024 during Black History Month. We aim to inform people of color in web3 about supportive communities like ours, amplifying their voices and connecting them with wider audiences.
Our solution involves leveraging our platform to spotlight the contributions of people of color at ETHDenver 2024. Through collaboration with 40 Acres DAO and FWB, we will document and amplify the stories of black builders and other marginalized individuals, providing them with visibility and recognition within the web3 space. By showcasing these voices, we aim to empower individuals, educate wider audiences, and foster greater diversity and inclusion within the industry.
My goal at ETHDenver is to present ETHDenver to my audience through the perspective of black folx by doing interviews with black attendees. Further being that Sirsu’s expertise in esports and mine is more in meta-labeling, we'll provide valuable insights for FWB's editorial content while highlighting black builders and FWB-related events. We'll also support 40 Acres DAO by documenting the hacker house Russell, Co-Founder of 40Acres DAO, is programming for the NEAR Blockchain. I will be doing interviews with black developers at this hacker house during the potluck and brunch Russell is organizing there. Additionally, the event Russell is organizing there is called Vibe Check.
February 28-March 3:
Record 10 - 12 interviews on the ground at events throughout conference weekend. These interviews will be 15-20 minutes long and provide a small overview of how different black people found their way into web3, what made them decide to come to ETHDenver 2024, and a core memory on their crypto journey.
Additionally, I will be documenting the 40 Acres potluck on 2/29 at 7pm and completing interviews with 40 Acres Community Members and Black Devs Here.
10 Interviewees Confirmed: Russ (Cofounder of 40 Acres), Ugo (40 Acres Member), Sance (Educator in 40 Acres DAO), Julian (Camera man on this trip and We Them Media Community Moderator), Trav (Founder of Webbie), Stefen Delevaux, Sirsu+Maceo (together), Carlos, Elo(40 Acres), Triplea (Afropolitan Citizen) & more still pending confirmation.

Validation for the Team
Our deep-rooted connections with 40 Acres DAO and experience in media production make us the ideal candidates for this initiative. With a proven track record of amplifying voices within web3, we're equipped to effectively showcase the contributions of people of color at ETHDenver. As such, we are proposing to partner with 40 Acres, a growing community focused on creating self-sustaining communities of color using blockchain in which I am deeply involved, as well as FWB to document the voices, faces and stories of people of color at ETHDenver.
