Abstract

To help preserve our future as the intersection of culture and crypto, the Membership Team seeks to establish the FWB Fellowship Trust, locking in place a substantial number of tokens to ensure that despite a fluctuating token price, creatives, people of color, the underserved/under-represented, women, and LGBTQ(+) will have access to FWB to launch their respective journeys into web3.

To foster community involvement in the future disbursement of these fellowships, a companion proposal will be presented that includes a mechanism for community donations, community voting, and the ability to personally sponsor future FWB members for Fellowships.

Motivation

FWB originated from a place of creativity and discovery. Artists, writers, musicians, thinkers, and dreamers have been at the very heart of our community’s growth since its inception.

To ensure that FWB remains a space that is diverse and where creativity and innovation can flourish, the Membership team is proposing that the FWB community establishes a trust to lock up tokens to preserve fellowships for the next two to three years. This allows FWB to remain true to its stated mission, and a home for all without any concern of financial barriers to entry.

Many artists have limited resources when embarking on their careers, and as the FWB token price increases it becomes more challenging for them to onboard.

Further, preserving a vesting trust of tokens to welcome diverse creatives as members will help to assure that FWB remains a place we all want to continue to contribute to.

It is of utmost importance that the vibrant fabric of this community continues in the same spirit of its founders.

Specifications

Allocate the allotted number of $FWB tokens to a 4/7 Gnosis Safe multisig governed by:

-Pat Lok -Patti Hauseman -Alex Zhang -Cooper Turley -Jose Mejia -Alex Hooven -Jake McEvoy (Kid Hastings)

All distributions of tokens will come from the Fellowship Treasury.

These multisig signers were selected based on their involvement in forming this initiative, with a majority rotating out every two seasons to ensure new Membership Committee members have a chance to participate in Fellowships.

At the one year mark, the Host Committee will have the option to call for a vote by FWB DAO members as to whether the Fellowships program will proceed on its existing course, or is placed on hold with the remaining token trust returned to the FWB Treasury.

Choose to allocate 18,000 $FWB to the FWB Trust. Tokens will be used over the course of 24 months, correlating to ~21 grants per season or 180 total grants at an average threshold 100 FWB tokens or take no action.
