In this formation both KHUN (5) and BAS (66) are shoo-ins for the back 3, with KHUN a perfect central man in the unit and BAS having the versatility to move out wide if needed when defending. But who joins them in the three is tougher. TEWIT looks very likely to miss the game through illness, and even if he was to pass fit, would be on the bench at best. That leaves SANOOK (27) and NUANG (37) as our only other recognized CB’s. SANOOK would be an obvious choice to fill the void, however he’s only come back to training this week … will he be able to last 60 minutes? NUANG has all the experience in the world, and his positioning could get us out of trouble, especially against this weekends long-ball merchants … however his pace may mean that he gets found out on occasion. It’s not perfect, but which will work better to start?
