This proposal requests a grant of $2,000 USD to fund the development and launch of the Pixel Transaction Art Minimum Viable Product (MVP) on the Gravity Chain. Pixel Transaction Art is a community-driven, collaborative digital art platform where each pixel placed on a shared canvas is recorded as an on-chain transaction.
The project’s primary objective is to validate the demand for cultural and community-centric applications within the Gravity Chain ecosystem. By leveraging the highly engaged user base of platforms like Galxe, we will drive initial adoption and demonstrate a scalable model for fostering on-chain identity and shared history. This MVP will serve as a foundational “digital town square,” transforming the blockchain ledger into a living, collaborative work of art.
While the blockchain industry excels in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and NFT collectibles, there remains a significant, underexplored market for applications that cultivate genuine community and shared culture. The success of collaborative social experiments like Reddit’s r/place demonstrates a fundamental human desire to create, collaborate, and leave a collective mark.
Currently, the Gravity Chain ecosystem has an opportunity to differentiate itself by fostering this cultural layer. A lack of accessible, engaging, and low-cost collaborative applications represents a strategic gap. Pixel Transaction Art directly addresses this by utilizing Gravity Chain’s low transaction fees—a key competitive advantage—to enable micro-interactions at scale, turning simple transactions into meaningful acts of creation.
Pixel Transaction Art is a decentralized application (dApp) that provides a public, pixel-based canvas. Users can select a color and place a pixel at specific coordinates, with each action submitted as a transaction on the Gravity Chain. The result is a permanent, time-stamped, and collectively owned piece of digital art that represents a specific moment in the community’s history.
The MVP will be intentionally streamlined to focus on the core collaborative experience, ensuring a rapid and cost-effective launch.
Key Features of the MVP:
Our launch strategy is designed for lean execution and organic, community-driven growth.
Phase 1: Pre-Launch Community Priming (Week 5)
Phase 2: Post-Launch Growth & Showcasing
We project a 6-week development and launch cycle. Milestones are tied to weekly deliverables to ensure accountability.
Week 1-2: Core Smart Contract & Backend Development Deliverable: Develop, test, and finalize the smart contract for pixel placement and canvas management. Set up backend infrastructure.
Week 3-4: Frontend UI/UX Development Deliverable: Build the visual canvas interface, color palette selection, and pixel/shape drawing tools.
Week 5: Integration & Pre-Launch Marketing Deliverable: Integrate the frontend with the smart contract via wallet connections (e.g., MetaMask). Launch the Galxe campaign.
Week 6: Final Testing & Public Launch Deliverable: Conduct comprehensive testing on the testnet. Deploy the smart contract to mainnet and launch the MVP to the public.
We are requesting a total of $2,000 USD to deliver the MVP as outlined. The funds will be allocated as follows:
Lead Developer Compensation: $1,800 This allocation is to retain a proficient full-stack developer for the 6-week project timeline to build and deploy the smart contract, backend, and frontend.
Infrastructure & Deployment: $200 This allocation will cover all associated costs, including mainnet gas fees for smart contract deployment, server/hosting fees, and any testnet faucet requirements.
Total Funding Request: $2,000
The success of this MVP will be measured by its ability to generate meaningful community interaction.
Engagement Metrics: Unique Active Wallets (UAW): Target 500+ unique wallets contributing to the first canvas.
Total Transactions: Target 10,000+ on-chain interactions (pixel/shape placements).
Canvas Completion Rate: Achieve 90%+ pixel coverage on the first canvas within 60 days of launch.
Ecosystem Impact Metrics: Social Media Engagement: Track mentions, shares, and sentiment related to the project on Twitter and other platforms.
New User Acquisition: Measure the percentage of participating wallets that are new to the Gravity Chain ecosystem (if data is available).
Pixel Transaction Art is more than a dApp; it is a strategic, low-cost experiment to prove a vital thesis: that culture is a powerful driver of blockchain adoption. This $2,000 grant represents a lean investment to launch a powerful catalyst for the Gravity Chain community. By delivering this MVP, we will provide immediate value, establish a scalable model for community engagement, and deliver a tangible return on investment in the form of a vibrant, active, and collaborative ecosystem.
