[GP36] Proposal: Enhancing the Galxe Community Experience with New Features in the "Galxe Quest Assistant" Extension

Abstract

I propose to enhance the “Galxe Quest Assistant” Google Chrome extension by adding new features that increase user participation in Galxe Quests using the Galxe Protocol. These enhancements aim to provide a more integrated and interactive experience within the Galxe ecosystem without changing the extension’s name.

Motivation

Active participation in various quests is crucial for the vitality of the Galxe ecosystem. While the “Galxe Quest Assistant” extension has played a significant role in helping users track their participation and victories, there is room to expand its capabilities. By adding new features that we have developed so far, we aim to improve user experience and engagement on the platform.

Review

The proposed enhancements to the “Galxe Quest Assistant” extension include:

Displaying Quest Completion Status:

• Visual Indicators: Show users which quests they have already completed directly in the quest list by adding labels like “CLAIMED”.

• Progress Tracking: Provide immediate feedback on quest statuses, making it easier for users to monitor their achievements.

Improved Interface Interaction:

• Real-Time Updates: Implement dynamic content loading to reflect changes without the need to refresh the page.
• User-Friendly Interface: Adjust the interface to seamlessly integrate new information without overwhelming the user.

Performance Optimization:

• Efficient Data Handling: Optimize data retrieval and processing to support new features without compromising performance.
• Synchronization with the Galxe Protocol: Ensure that the extension remains up-to-date with the latest quest data and user statuses.

Request for Funding

To support these new features and ensure optimal performance, I request funding from the Galxe DAO for the support of the existing server, which currently serves approximately 1,200 daily users. This will allow us to efficiently handle increased data demands and provide the stable infrastructure necessary for the enhanced features.

Scope of Work:

The project involves adding the new features we have developed to the existing “Galxe Quest Assistant” extension. This includes:

Feature Development:

• Implement the new functionalities described above.
• Ensure compatibility with the current extension and the Galxe Protocol.

Testing and Debugging:

• Conduct thorough testing to ensure reliability and user convenience.
• Optimize performance to handle increased user engagement.

Timeline and Budget:

The planned development period is 2 weeks, structured as follows:

• Week 1: Development of new features and interface modifications.
• Week 2: Testing, debugging, and deployment of the updated extension.

Budget:

• Feature Development and Testing: 20,000 G tokens.
• Support of the Existing Server (1 year): 25,000 G tokens. Total Budget: 45,000 G tokens

By adding these new features to the “Galxe Quest Assistant” extension, we aim to enrich the Galxe community’s experience and foster greater engagement within the ecosystem. The enhancements will provide users with more comprehensive tools to actively participate in quests.
