As one of the largest on-chain DAOs representing Ethereum’s most active users, we want to create useful referendums/polls, GHSPs, for the rest of the Ethereum community and to help direct resources. Our first one is on EIP-1559.
EIP-1559 introduced “a transaction pricing mechanism that includes fixed-per-block network fee that is burned and dynamically expands/contracts block sizes to deal with transient congestion.” It split a transaction’s gas price into two parts: a base fee, which is burned, and a miner tip, which is given to the miner as a reward. The base fee is fixed per block, and modulates based on network congestion.
Did you as a power Ethereum user know about EIP-1559 before it was released, and did it improve your user experience on Ethereum?
