1 关于Web3 Privacy

Web3Privacy Now is a dynamic ecosystem spreading awareness and advancing the development of privacy-preserving web3 technologies.

Formed by different professionals and contributors, this think-and-do-tank produces open and public research, trains developers, organizes events, explores groundbreaking use cases, and develops cutting-edge privacy tools and concepts.

Web3Privacy Now is independent, non-profit and open-source by nature.

Through events and educational content, the aim is to build understanding and solidarity between different interest groups, cultures, jurisdictions, ecosystems and backgrounds. To do so, W3PN gathers developers, researchers, philosophers, lawyers, policymakers, hacktivists, key players, local communities and the general public.

Web3Privacy Now needs to stay independent to be objective in its knowledge production and its assessments of the privacy stack. Your donation can power its freedom and contribute to guaranteeing the accuracy of its reporting.

Web3Privacy Now is actively growing its community, and striving to expand it in Asia, and in China in particular. Its first event in Asia will take place as a Devcon side-event, of which its Academy presentation would be a core component.

Why Privacy Academy?

While we were organizing hackathons (ETHBrno, ETHRome, and ETHDam), judging and speaking in many others, we understood that many people came to privacy without grasping the full significance of it.

There are not enough technical, practical, political, philosophical or historical resources to help them do so, and the ones you can find are scattered among different platforms, websites and playlists.

Considering education and guidance towards practical and useful developments as necessary and of primary importance, Web3Privacy Now intends to develop and offer training, incubation, and acceleration programs. All this will be done via 3 phases:

LEARN - Academy & Mentorship BUILD - Cohort, Hackathons & Grants SCALE - Fundraising, Advisory, & Partnerships

OUR AIM:

Create impactful privacy solutions: ensure people avoid generating redundant or ineffective code. Develop sustainable privacy projects: transform hackathon demos into enduring, viable products. Redirect misallocated funds to value-aligned stakeholders: connect conscientious devs with experienced mentors and grant programs.

5 资金使用计划

$20, 000 for prizes to Chinese devs/researchers, local coordinator’s salary (1 person at least), bounties for translations and other localization efforts, necessary travel expenses. The money will stay in GCC’s treasury and co-managed by GCC & Web3 Privacy

$30, 000 for Web3 Privacy Academy’s other daily operations; it will be paid in two installments; $15000 paid after the proposal gets approved; another $15000 paid in 2025Q2 after milestone is achieved：

Milestone: Structured Learning Paths We create various learning paths and playlists, and run cohort-based programs similar to kernel. These programs allow participants to interact with each other, to receive guidance from mentors and experts, and to enhance their learning experience.

6 GCC权益

Web3Privacy Now can use its influence, events and network to attract more web3 builders and scholars to learn about GCC, thereby expanding GCC's influence among Chinese builders and researchers. Final outcome of the GCC donation as a help to Chinese public goods builders:

50 of the Chinese public goods builders will finish Academy with a final project they will receive professional mentorship (both technical & non-technical) from privacy experts they will receive a skill of collaboration in a multi-cultural teams some of the Academy materials will be localized to make Academy accessible to the public global audience will explore Chinese use-cases and can collaborate with Chinese builders in solving those issues GCCxWeb3 Privacy will make an announcement together about the donation and amplify in the social channels GCC will be Academy cohort #1 official partner - visible as a program partner GCC will participate in a post cohort #1 report focusing on Asia/Pacific use-cases for privacy as a public goods (part with the Chinese builders focus) GCC will share with Web3Privacy Now key resources, contacts and communities in China’s public good ecosystem so the latter can produce meaningful content and insightful material to drive the growth GCC and affiliated experts can analyze projects coming out from the cohort (jury) ~~

Web3Privacy Now goals for 2024-2025: To become the number one privacy-centric think-and-do-tank behind a critical advocacy ecosystem via:

the launch of its Privacy Explorer [L2Beat for Privacy], the biggest privacy-services database comprised of reports, research, summits and meetups reaching 10 million people on socials, in the media and through its events gathering 2500 + event attendees scaling to 50 contributors beyond the core team. Due to the lack of a single resource that would provide a comprehensive understanding of:

Why and how the internet is broken What blockchain and cryptography are and what were their initial purpose How to protect yourself and take concrete action we have developed a multi-phase initiative. Milestone 1 [Q4 2024] - Curated Learning Resources We gather the best existing materials and curate them to be accessible to the average crypto user but also to the total beginner. This empowers users to learn exactly what they are looking for or interested in and to implement best practices effectively. Milestone 2 [Q2 2025] - Structured Learning Paths We create various learning paths and playlists, and run cohort-based programs similar to kernel. These programs allow participants to interact with each other, to receive guidance from mentors and experts, and to enhance their learning experience. Milestone 3 [Q4 2025] - Project Accelerator and Post-Academy Support We launch an accelerator for final projects from the Academy learners and provide post-academy support and work introductions. Graduates will be able to publish their projects and ideas on our grant/bounty platform where they will find the opportunity to be funded or crowdfunded. Milestone 4 [Q1 2026] - Original Content Production We will start producing our own content in collaboration with our network and key experts to further enhance our educational offerings.
