This proposal aims to make official some of the suggestions made in previous discussions about compensation for multisig participants as well as retroactively reward technical multisig participants for the hard work they have already put in.

Over the past 6 months there has been a good amount of activity by the technical multisig in terms of signing txs that keep Gearbox protocol moving forward (about ~60 txs). The financial multisig has not yet had any activity.

I propose the following compensation for multisig participants (as per the discussions in the forum).

Technical Multisig (8 persons): 700k GEAR/Quarter Financial Multisig (6 persons): 300k GEAR/Quarter

I additionally propose that we retroactively reward the Technical multisig for work already performed over the past 6 months. This amounts to 1.4m GEAR total, to be distributed among the members of the multisig.

Since we have the retroactive information, I propose that the distribution be based on actual multisig activity, as follows:

TLDR of this proposal:

  • Going forward, 700k GEAR per quarter for tech multisig and 300k GEAR per quarter for financial multisig
  • Retroactively compensate the technical multisig 1.4m GEAR tokens for 6 months of work so far
  • This 1.4m will be distributed proportionally according to each signer’s multisig activity as shown in image below
