IntoTheBlock (ITB) was founded in 2019 and is one of the largest crypto data providers. Over the past three years, ITB has been deeply involved in DeFi. Through our DeFi Quant Platform, we have helped 20+ of the largest crypto institutions deploy more than $1B in assets via sophisticated, non-custodial strategies aided by our risk management tools.

These strategies are tailored to each institution’s risk profile and would have not been possible without our extensive focus on risk management. Over the past year and a half we have spun off these risk-specific analytics through the Risk Radar product (https://defirisk.intotheblock.com/), partnering with protocols such as Aave, Curve Ethena and 10+ more.

Proposal

This proposal will create a dashboard of advanced economic risk indicators for Gearbox based on the risk signals ITB uses to protect deployed institutional assets. The proposed indicators found below will be freely available to the public on our Risk Radar platform and will allow Gearbox users to monitor risk signals pertaining directly or indirectly to the protocol in near-real time. The platform will also be accessed by ITB institutional clients who have allocated over $1B into DeFi using ITB risk management. The goal is to create transparency around Gearbox's risks and lead to greater confidence amongst allocators who value reviewing these metrics when deploying capital.

To pay for the cost of building the dashboard and risk models, ITB is requesting a $60k grant. Following discussions in the forum, we are requesting the grant to be paid in GEAR tokens, with 50% to be paid upfront and the remaining 50% upon completion of the dashboard, determining prices through a 7-Day TWAP.

Additionally, as Gearbox will be integrated into the ITB Quant strategies and we see the Gearbox protocol as a valuable addition to the DeFi ecosystem, we plan to be active providing input to governance proposals where we believe our background in risk management and capital deployment in DeFi will add value.
