Currently, the timelock delay is 48 hours, which, while it provides a significant time for users to react if something would go wrong, introduces a lot of friction into the deployment process as the Gearbox DAO starts to ramp up the speed of delivering new strategies and collateral assets.
The gauge epoch change at 1PM CET on Monday necessitates that all transactions and voting be done Saturday morning at the latest, otherwise any new assets will not make it into the new epoch and will only be enabled a week later. This means that a proposal that starts on Monday or Tuesday usually only leaves 1-2 days to polish up deployment, test everything and gather signatures in the multisig.
Changing the timelock delay to 36 hours will give the dev team some additional breathing room, enabling them essentially an additional (waking) day to check things and queue up the transaction, while still allowing enough time to react and cancel if something goes wrong.
