Airdrop to Bitcoin.com Wallet app users

Introduction

Greetings Verse Community,

Since 2017, the self-custodial Bitcoin.com Wallet mobile app has helped people leverage the app to buy, swap, transact, and stay up-to-date with the latest news in crypto.

We are fortunate to be able to draw in users with our strong brand and highly visible domain. Many of these users are new to crypto. They will be experiencing bull and bear cycles together with us in the future, and we are committed to making their first steps in crypto as easy, fun and rewarding as possible.

There are also many people who are long time users of our app. Some of these OGs have been with us since 2017! These are the believers - the mavericks, the renegades, the rebels - people who believed in our mission of making crypto simple, safe, and accessible for all. Without them, we would not be where we are today. And they deserve a special “Thank you!”

Proposal

1. We are proposing to reward active Ethereum users of the Bitcoin.com Wallet app with VERSE, Bitcoin.com’s utility and rewards token.

2. Rewards will be drawn from the Verse Ecosystem Development Fund. Reward amounts and eligibility criteria will be revealed after the airdrop has been announced.

3. The distribution will take the form of an airdrop decentralized application (Airdrop dApp) supported by an underlying claimer contract on the Ethereum Chain: a. Users will be invited to check their Ethereum wallets for eligibility and claim their airdrop. b. Users may claim within 30 days from the announcement of the airdrop. c. Any unclaimed VERSE will be clawed back into the Verse Ecosystem Development Fund.

4. The existing buy back and burn program will continue to operate as rewards are distributed.

5. Other groups of wallet users will be activated similarly in the future.

Pros:

1. This airdrop will raise awareness of the Bitcoin.com Wallet app and the Verse Ecosystem, bringing in more users to both.

2. Large protocols have recently announced airdrops and we can ride on the news cycle.

3. This airdrop aims to spark interest and anticipation for future airdrops, encouraging users to become more active within the Bitcoin.com Wallet app and Verse Ecosystem, which includes a growing array of dApps. By engaging with our Wallet app and dApps, such as buying and swapping within the Wallet app, trading on Verse DEX, holding Verse Voyagers NFTs, and joining the Verse Lounge Telegram group, users increase their chances of being rewarded in the next airdrop. This initiative is designed to incentivize daily activity and deepen user involvement in our platform.

Cons:

1. The large distribution may lead to sell pressure on the price of the VERSE token.

2. The airdrop may not bring in new users or engage existing users as expected.
