Should we do the Karma Governance Analytics Integration?
Karma has offered to Giveth to install and maintain a paid service to provide analytics on our governance platforms and beyond that can help us creatie actionable insights to improve and even reward participation in governance and beyond.
They can provide detailed analytics from many sources we use, including:
- Aragon (nrGIV) on-chain voting
- Snapshot voting
- GIVgarden data
- Forum activity (proposals initiated, discussed, posts discussed, likes received etc.)
- Discord activity
- Github activity (commits, repos, lines of code changed and more)
Karma is able to produce a custom dashboard or a simple dashboard that can be accessible publicly giving insights into our DAO and even showing our most active contributors based on data sources listed above.
They can also provide us raw analytics that can be used in our calculations in the reward system, effectively allowing us to reward engagement and value creation in the aforementioned platforms.
You can read the forum post linked for more in depth details on this proposal. Essentially however I would like to present the three clear options we have:
Option 1
Karma creates a standard governance dashboard, hosted on Karma. Karma also provides analytics data to be used for Rewards system. Cost is $5,000 USD worth of GIV yearly for setup and maintenance.
Option 2
Karma creates a custom Giveth governance dashboard, complete with logo and branding that can be hosted directly by Giveth. Karma also provides analytics data to be used for Rewards system. Cost is $10,000 USD worth of GIV for the first year of setup and maintenance, $5,000 for subsequent year(s).
Option 3
No Karma integration.
The forum results seem without any decisive results so let's get a clear direction here so we can know how to move forward.
