⚙️ Test of a new infrastructure leveraging on Moonbeam and Tanssi

The Core Team has been working for several months on a new infrastructure for the Great Escape game that will leverage both Moonbeam and Tanssi.

The idea is that as a player, basically nothing will change for you. You would still use your GLMR APES and GLMR Jungle NFTs on Moonbeam and swap GLMR/GLMB on DEXs.

However, in terms of the technical infrastructure, Tanssi will allow us to build our own dApp chain which will allow us to have a fully scalable and customizable infrastructure and use our own (future) game token to pay the gas fees incurred by each game transaction.

By leveraging Polkadot's XCM, we will be able to get the best of both worlds and make the game smoother and ready to welcome more players.

We've talked to both Moonbeam and Tanssi about this idea and they have been supportive of it (Derek Yo even presented the Great Escape as an example of what the combo Moonbeam + Tanssi could offer in terms of perspectives for Dapps at the Polkadot Academy in HK).

We would now like to formally get the approval of GLMR APES DAO to start testing this new infrastructure by deploying a light version of our game on Tanssi's testnet.

Part of the game would start to be implemented on testnet in March and will see the current classic mode (fully on Moonbeam) co-existing with a Tanssi Testnet infrastructure.

As a player, you will have the choice to either click on Classic Mode (like today) and compete for the typical weekly prize pool or you will be able to click on a "Tanssi" button (not the actual name, but you get the picture) and access a light testnet mode where only Gibbons will be playable.

The core team is currently in talks with Tanssi to work on a special campaign that will incentivize players for using the "Tanssi" mode on our game and put the Great Escape on the spotlight by organizing a special tournament for Tanssi.

This could result in having a nice influx of new players on the Great Escape. If the experience proves successful, we would then start to plan to adopt this new infrastructure once Tanssi moves from Testnet to Mainnet in a few months.
