GM 12.1 — Test batch for gmDAO merch

Approval needed to spend €231,35 on a test batch of gmDAO merch.

## Abstract:

As discussed in (https://discord.com/channels/884035600502640663/958784034329219122) thread we want to offer merchandise to gmDAO members. To start with a hoodie, sweater & t-shirt. In a later stage we might offer more merch options as well as open the merch to degens outside the DAO (i.e. for studio drops).

We’ve found a supplier in Portugal who can produce, stock & ship the apparel for us. Before we do a full order we need to run a test batch to assess quality of the apparel and make sure it is to our liking. The test batch will include the following items:

1x hoodie (black) + ‘gm’ embroidery 1x sweater (black) + ‘gm’ embroidery 1x sweater (white) + ‘gm’ embroidery 1x t-shirt (black) + ‘gm’ embroidery Hang tag sample Neck label sample Box + sticker sample Design of the merch

## Motivation:

There are a couple of advantages going with this supplier:

No minimum order quantity; Items can be stocked until they are shipped; Branded packaging is possible; They can take care of the logistics (against a fee). What we need to keep in mind:

Customization with this whitelabel solution is limited; If we open up the merchandise to outside the DAO it might be cheaper to produce our own collection.

## Risks:

Quality of the fabric & embroidery is unsatisfactory. In that case we’ll need to find a different supplier; With this solution we have less control over quality as it is shipped directly from the factory; With this solution we have less control over logistics. In edge cases it might be harder to track the package and provide customer support.

## Rationale:

We need a test batch to assess the quality of the merch before doing a full order.

## Timeframe:

After approval the manufacturer needs 15-20 working days to produce the test batch. Expected delivery will be around week 22.
