To Gnar Game Dev (GGD) Studio (Zack Goulet and Jon Tokarz) towards their efforts in developing their video game, Quest For Stoken. This proposal is to support the work of artists Zack Goulet, and Jon Tokarz, and supply them with software, and supplies, to publish a gnarly video game for the Gnars Dao and Skatehive communities.
Jon and Zack began learning coding and working on the game in June 2022. In 6 months, they have achieved a fun game that is featured on the homepage of Game Maker creations, for it's creativity and fun gameplay.
-The game, in its Open Alpha form, gets about 100 plays per day, and is featured on GX Games’ homepage. https://gx.games/games/lkitb7/quest-for-stoken/
The long term goal is to integrate some kind of play-to-earn crypto mechanics. -The game will use web3 as a theme which underlies the game. -QR codes within the game will lead to WEB3 skateboarding community websites. -QR codes to collect POAPs made by GNAR STUDIO for accomplishing levels and beating the game. -We are from Chicago and have created our city within the game. We want to add international levels. Greece and Brazil are two on our radar. -We want to expand the game’s narrative so that it reads like a book, and tells a story. -We ask the assistance of Gnars Dao for help to make the game more accessible to the community by making Web, and mobile exports. -Gnars NPC characters to be featured in the game.
Zack Goulet and Jon Tokarz are 35 year old visual artists living and working in Chicago who are expanding their work into game development. Zack is primarily a painter, with an interest in animations and is one of the founders of the Skatehive community. Jon and Zack have used the word "gnar" to describe their work since 2005. Gnar Team was the skate crew name and gnarip.net was the website.
