TLDR: Requesting retroactive funding for past newsletters and funding to continue for the next 3 months (6 months of work total). Check out the publication at http://gnarly.news!
As anyone who spends time in nounish discords knows, keeping up with all the latest updates can be a full time job in and of itself. There is a ton of information - upcoming projects and ideas, active proposals, contests, news, media from events, governance discussions etc. The goal of Gnarly News is to publish a weekly editorial condensing this abundace of information into a format that is easy to digest but captures the most important updates from the week.
So far, the weekly newsletter has been published 13 times with the first edition launching on 9/21/22 and a new publication going out every week since, except for two (due to travel/holidays). The newsletter highlights the latest developments within the Gnars ecosystem, including active and upcoming proposals, event updates, community highlights, and even current events in the broader Nouns ecosystem.
Since launch, the newsletter has reached over 2,300 reads and accumulated 365 subscribers (~68 organic, the rest have been brought over from an existing email list via Gami). It's also frequently referenced during Gnars Jam Sessions and is posted to SkateHive thanks to KnowHow. Lately each edition garners between 180-225 reads.

As you can see in the chart above, interest has been slowly increasing over time with a marked uptick in daily visits beginning in November. Currently, the newsletter has an average open rate of 31%, which is fairly high considering a substantial number of subscribers were imported and may not have been aware of Gnars prior to receiving the newsletter. Below is a chart depicting the growth in subscribers over the past 90 days.

The newsletter has proven to be a valuable resource for the community, and I anticipate that it's reach will only continue to grow from here. It's not only useful to those within the Gnars community, but the 'In Other Nouns' section at the end contains major news and events from around the nouniverse and can help you branch out as well. Between Prop House, Lil Nouns, and other nounish sub-DAOs there is always exciting stuff happening, and I compile the most exciting ones here.
Retroactive funding for the first 13 publications is requested at half of the rate moving forward.
