Hello everybody! I am Abuga Aroni, a downhill skateboarder from Kenya, and the homie behind Downhill254.
I picked up downhill skateboarding in the UK back in 2016. But when I came back to Kenya in 2017, I found I was pretty much the only downhill skater in around.
This kinda sucked, and so I spent the following years trying to grow the Kenyan downhill skate scene.

Couple years later, and we're still only a handful but we're slowly growing. I dream of having a massive scene one day, and hopefully the seeds of stoke I plant will blossom 🌸.
I'm a big believer in giving back. Over the last few years, I've been helping out beginners and novices through my blog and youtube channel.
I've been creating content that helps skaters around the world get off the right (goofy or regular hehe) foot for downhill skating. Teaching them everything they need to know, to allow them to go from being a total beginner, to a skater that can handle any hill they come across.

The great side effect of helping new skaters, is that I've been able to make downhill skateboarding my main source of income through content creation.
And being a part of movements and communities like Gnars, and Skatehive couldn't be more perfect.
