GIP-1: Governance Framework

Abstract We need to establish the processes to make decisions as a DAO. As such, we propose this governance framework for guidance.

Proposal Details We propose a lean and iterative governance setup and expect that additional responsibilities will be added to the DAO over time.

Phase 0 - Informal Ideas

Informal ideas should be posted to the forums and discord for initial community feedback. This is not a requirement before creating a Goblin Improvement Proposal, but a best practice for collaboration around informal ideas.

Duration: No duration

Who: Anyone

Form: Post under the general discussion tag in the GS forum 1

Phase 1 - Goblin Improvement Proposals

It is recommended that proposals be posed to the GS forum 1 for initial feedback, since a successful proposal will need to garner momentum inside the community. We propose these initial parameters for guidance.

Duration: Minimum duration of 5 days

Who: Anyone can create a GIP

Form: Post the GIP in the GS forum using the GIP Template and proposal tagging scheme.

Phase 2 - Community Vote The ratification of the governance framework requires a successful vote on the Goblin Sax snapshot space 1.

Duration: The proposal should have a 1 day voting delay and a voting period of 4 days.

Who: To prevent spam, only GS holders with at least 10,000 SAX can post proposals on Snapshot. Governance participants that do not reach this threshold should find a proposal sponsor.

Form: Voting system: Basic (single choice voting with three choices: For, Against, Abstain)

Quorum: 840,000 (~10% of circulating supply (as of today), ~1% of total supply)
