Grant Description

We want to implement two things:

• Seamless migration from Subgraph to zkGraph
• zkAutomation implementation for a protocol liquidation keeper

Overview

We are drawn to contribute to Synthetix due to its significant role within the DeFi landscape and its extensive user base. We believe that these users could greatly benefit from the heightened security that our zk-based Indexing and Automation solutions provide. We want to set a new standard for middleware, creating a product that aligns with the true spirit of web3: fully decentralized, trustless, and unstoppable. Existing middleware solutions often fall short in these areas and are either not fully decentralized or not trustless. Partnering with a major player like Synthetix would provide an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate the efficacy and transformative potential of our zkIndexing and zkAutomation technologies.

Value to Synthetix

In light of the numerous outages that have demonstrated the unreliability of decentralized indexing, Hyper Oracle's zkIndexing solution offers a more reliable alternative with enhanced security and faster finality. The security model of our solution is grounded in mathematical proofs, rather than staking, which enables instant verification of queries, eliminating the need to rely on a trust-based staking mechanism. This, in turn, prevents any disputes over receiving incorrect data from a decentralized indexer. As a fully automated system, our zkIndexing solution presents a less bureaucratic, faster, trustless, and unstoppable approach to addressing the challenges currently faced in the DeFi space.

Project Implementation Plan

The estimated timeline and milestones for the project are as follows:

1. Creation of a zkGraph for Synthetix's smart contracts: The first milestone involves creating a zkGraph for Synthetix’s smart contracts, akin to the ones we have previously created for Uniswap (refer to these mvp files). We anticipate this task will be completed within one week. The funding required for this milestone is estimated at $1,000 USD.
2. Implementation of a zkGraph powered off-chain workflow: Following the successful completion of the first milestone, the second milestone will be to implement a zkGraph-powered off-chain workflow for a protocol liquidation keeper. We expect this task to be completed within three weeks. The funding required for this milestone is $3,000 USD.
3. Sharing of Completed Work and Learnings: The third milestone, following the implementation phase, will be to share the completed work on our social media channels (i.e. twitter.com/hyperoracle, Mirror, and Discord). We'll publish a blog post detailing the learnings, outlining the possibilities, and describing the process. No funding is required for this milestone, and we estimate it will take approximately one week.

We believe that this approach, with clear milestones and funding allocation, will allow us to successfully accomplish the tasks within the projected timeline.
