Grant Description

We are building an open source multi currency cryptocurrency wallet SDK which will allow any new or existing blockchain entrepreneurs to instantly build a fully operational, secure, and interoperable wallet infrastructure. In addition, the SDK will include pre-built integrations with existing blockchain and cryptocurrency service providers (such as swap providers, on/off-ramps, reporting tools etc) which can be added just as easily. In time, WalletD will become the backbone of almost all blockchain and cryptocurrency projects.

Though this project isn’t necessarily building “within” Synthetix ecosystem, it will be a vital part of expanding it as we are focusing on building a chain agnostic multicurrency wallet SDK which will include, amongst a large number of other blockchains and currencies, a wallet module which interacts with Synthetix.

Overview

Blockchain projects often waste time and resources building wallet infrastructure from scratch. WalletD simplifies this by providing an open-source, multi-currency wallet SDK that allows developers to create secure wallets easily and efficiently.

Integrating different cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks can be resource-intensive, but WalletD aims to provide pre-built integrations with various blockchain and cryptocurrency service providers, streamlining the integration process for developers.

Developing wallets for networks like Synthetix can be particularly challenging, this is where WalletD comes in. We would develop a wallet module specifically for Synthetix, which would provide a foundation for developers to build upon.

Value to Synthetix

By simplifying wallet development and integration, WalletD makes it more accessible for developers to enter the blockchain space and incorporate Synthetix into their projects. This ability to seamlessly integrate with various blockchains will encourage cross-network collaboration and the development of interconnected tools and services.

By integrating Synthetix into this cooperative blockchain space through the inclusion of the wallet module in the WalletD SDK, WalletD also provides increased exposure to the Synthetix community. WalletD’s multi-currency support and potential widespread adoption will expose more users to Synthetix, which increases awareness and usage of the SNX. This will also encourage developers building tools for other chains to incorporate the SNX tokens and expose the Synthetix Network to a wide array of new tools and innovations in the multi-currency environment.

The WalletD module for Synthetix will reduce the development complexity for projects looking to integrate with Synthetix, thus encouraging more developers to build out applications and services on the Synthetix Network.

We believe that WalletD can become the foundation of almost every blockchain tool of the future. We hope that this allows for a new and more cooperative blockchain industry where WalletD becomes the standard that breaks down the walls between individual ecosystems fostering exponential innovation and development within the space.

Project Implementation Plan

Milestone 1: Integration module for Synthetix in WalletD. Estimated Timeline: Two months

Integration Setup: Establish communication channels between Walletd and Synthetix, ensuring compatibility and data exchange. Define the integration protocol and message formats to facilitate seamless interaction between the two systems. Set up authentication and security measures to ensure secure communication between WalletD and Synthetix.

Error Handling and Reporting: Implement robust error handling mechanisms to handle exceptions, errors, and edge cases effectively. Develop detailed error reporting capabilities to provide informative and actionable feedback in case of any issues during the integration process.

Testing and Documentation: Conduct thorough testing of the integration to ensure the functionality, reliability, and security of the integration. Document the integration process, including setup instructions, API documentation, and troubleshooting guides for future reference and support.

Milestone 2: Smart Contract Support. This would include, but is not limited to the development of the functionality within WalletD to enable the deployment of smart contracts which interact directly with Synthetix. Estimated Timeline: One month

Smart Contract Integration: Define the integration approach for supporting smart contracts within Walletd and Synthetix. Research and select appropriate smart contract platforms or frameworks that align with the requirements of both WalletD and Synthetix.

Smart Contract Deployment: Develop functionality within WalletD to enable the deployment of smart contracts onto the selected platform. Implement a user-friendly interface within WalletD for users to interact with the deployed smart contracts. Enable the configuration of contract parameters, such as gas limits and contract initializations, within WalletD.

Contract Interaction: Integrate functionality to interact with deployed smart contracts from WalletD, allowing users to execute contract functions and methods. Implement methods for reading and retrieving data from smart contracts, providing real-time information within WalletD and Synthetix.

Error Handling and Reporting: Implement comprehensive error handling mechanisms for smart contract interactions, ensuring proper exception handling and error reporting. Develop informative error messages and feedback to guide users in case of contract interaction issues or failures. Testing and Documentation:

Conduct thorough testing of the smart contract integration to ensure proper functionality, interoperability, and security. Document the integration process, including setup instructions, API documentation, and sample code for working with smart contracts within WalletD and Synthetix. Provide guidance and examples on how developers can leverage the smart contract support in WalletD for their own applications.
