HIP-6: The $HAIRy Research Bounty

Today, we propose HIP-6: The $HAIRy Research Bounty. As our treasury now exceeds $400,000, we seek to make our next investment into hair loss research. The winner of the $HAIRy Research Bounty will not only have their research funded–they will also individually receive at least 5% ownership of the intellectual property generated by their research, HAIR for winning the bounty, and bonus HAIR if their research is successful.

5% of the IP:

Each study generates intellectual property, be it patents or proprietary datasets. The person whose research is funded receives 5% of the ownership of the asset via both legal contracts and an IP-NFT, which they may be able to sell (if the investment is successful) for Ether or stablecoins.

HAIR for Winning:

Studies will be voted on by the HairDAO community, with the final results ratified by HAIR holders. HAIR will be granted as follows:

• First place: 2,000 HAIR.
• Second place: 1,000 HAIR,
• Third place: 500 HAIR.
• Honorable Mention: There may be additional grants for innovative submissions, best critiques, or new ideas, at the discretion of the Research & Investment Working Group.

Bonus HAIR:

For the winner, if your research study is successful in advancing to further development, you will be granted HAIR as follows:

• Over $100,000 in net profit: 20,000 HAIR
• Phase 1 Clinical Trials: 10,000 HAIR
• In vivo studies: 2,000 HAIR
• In vitro studies: 500 HAIR The first disease model for most hair loss studies is dissected human scalp hair follicles in organ culture, as there is no worry of the delivery vehicle. However, you may propose to begin anywhere in the process. Direct hair follicle tests often fall short, as we are interested in the adipocytes and immune cells surrounding the hair follicle, as well as molecules’ ability to reach the base layer of the follicle when applied topically.

The purpose of HIP-6 is for HAIR holders to ratify the Bounty program, which will be shared as linked here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mgzv3mFbP7S9YvLnne3_Ak3MmfyrPxWlxKqqqzsm59U/edit?usp=sharing. HAIR holders reserve the right to alter HAIR rewards such that its value remains equivalent to today’s value of the bounties. The bounties are based on the current HAIR price of $2.63.
