HIP 11: Comparative Dutasteride Delivery Vehicle Study. To Fund or Not to Fund

Voting ended over 2 years agoSucceeded

HairForce,

As referenced in the announcements channel of our Discord server (https://discord.com/channels/1102313145575419996/1110920619308089434/1157337217132400782), the community is considering whether or not to fund our first internally-generated study - a comparative dutasteride delivery vehicle study with Professor Tais Gratieri and the University of Brazil. The purpose of the study is to develop a low-dose, follicle specific dutasteride formulation that effectively regrows hair without any side effects.

HairDAO core interviewed over 25 different delivery vehicle researchers before settling on Dr. Tais Gatieri to run our study. Not only does Dr. Gratieri have a plethora of dermatological delivery experience but she is also incredibly flexible and willing to work with HairDAO’s requirements. The study will last 2 years and cost $130k/year ($260k total). The plan is to test 10 different dutasteride-loaded delivery vehicles using the porcine ear model and evaluate their penetration profiles primarily using HPLC. Not only will we develop our own vehicles but we will include third-party submitted vehicles so it is a true competition — Which delivery vehicle will get the most dutasteride to the hair bulb without going systemic? Regardless of which vehicle wins, I feel confident that hair loss sufferers will benefit from the winning formulation in the short-term.

Please vote “For” if you would like HairDAO to fund the delivery vehicle study with Professor Tais or “Against” if you want to pass on this opportunity.

Long Live HairDAO
