I have read through the whitepaper of freq and I like the idea of a decentralized comic book. However I don't fully agree on the proposed mechanisms of writing this book. In the whitepaper, the proposals stated are that holders will be able to "vote on different branches of upcoming plots" and "brainstorm possible plot branches" in secret discord channels.
I do think this the concept of a decentralized comic book is super cool and something that should be pushed further (especially with an emphasis on the word >decentralized<). Hence why I would like to propose 2 ways I could think up on top of my head that this would be achieved.
Freq should be a decentralized role playing game! Tabletop role playing games are a great format for collaborative creativity. The core team could write the framework rules if they'd like. All holders would be able to join the game, but the game should not be dependent on holders participating to continue. Disagreements during the game could be solved using DAO proposals. Either the DAO or the core team could act as the game master (cooler if the DAO does it, but that would take longer time). The book will only be done once the game is done. I think this would be a really cool experiment and truly decentralized storytelling.
Users write it in a git like fashion, make a DAO mechanism in order to accept/decline pull requests. Let's say we make a git repository just containing an empty .txt-file (the book) where anyone can make pull requests. Anyone can begin the story line, and write however much they'd like, and once their pull-request is accepted, anyone after that can either continue the story or modifying the existing text (much like software development on github). However we should then make an automation that the only way for a pull request to get accepted is through passing voting from the holders. This will secure the quality of the pull-requests getting accepted and also make everyone able to participate in the storytelling, either as a contributer or as a tokenholder/voter (or both!). You could even set a time limit on this one. Like, whatever is written after 1 year of this git-repo being modified is the book.
Lets write some history and make the most decentralized book with this DAO, folks!
