Heurist Protocol, as a pioneering layer-2 network for AI inference and model hosting, is committed to leveraging blockchain technology for the democratization of AI. Our mission is to ensure the accessibility and unbiased innovation of AI technologies through a decentralized infrastructure network (DePIN) of GPUs. This proposal aims to establish a robust governance structure for Heurist Protocol tailored to our unique vision and community.
The Heurist Protocol governance will be structured around a two-tier system, designed to ensure broad participation and alignment with our ethos of openness and decentralization.
Heurist Imaginaries is a collection of 500 AI-generated artworks, airdropped to early members of the Heurist community. This series of NFTs embodies a significant role within our governance structure, entrusting holders with both privilege and duty in shaping the future of the Heurist Protocol.
Role: NFT House aims to encourage early-stage governance participation during the testnet phase. This emphasizes the importance of community engagement from the outset of the protocol. Voting Mechanism: One NFT, One Vote. Authority: NFT House will govern up to 2% of the total Heurist Token supply, amounting to 20,000,000 tokens.
Heurist Token ($HUE) will be a governance and utility token, estimated to launch in Q3 2024. The maximum supply is capped at 1,000,000,000.
Role: Token House will be the primary governance body post-TGE. Voting Mechanism: Voting power proportional to token holdings. Authority: Specifics regarding the governance capabilities and limitations of the Token House will be defined in a subsequent proposal post-TGE. This future proposal will also delineate the governance power distribution between the NFT House and the Token House, ensuring equitable representation and mitigating the risk of power consolidation.
Capture Resistance: Ensure the protocol remains resistant to control or censorship by any single entity or small group, maintaining operation continuity without reliance on centralized entities.
Resource Allocation: Effectively manage and allocate resources to support Heurist Protocol's vision, balancing short-term needs with long-term growth and sustainability.
Minimal Governance: Keep encoded governance responsibilities minimal, focusing on essential processes and reducing regulation to encourage permissionless innovation.
Iterative Approach: Gradually decentralize governance, learning and adapting processes based on community feedback and evolving needs.
Forkability and Exit Options: Ensure all core software and tools are open source, providing the community with the freedom to fork the protocol if necessary, reinforcing the decentralized ethos.
Balanced Influence: Extend governance beyond financial stakes to value community contribution, ensuring a diverse and balanced representation in decision-making processes.
This governance framework is proposed as a starting point for Heurist Protocol's journey towards a decentralized, community-driven future. We invite all community members to engage in discussions, provide feedback, and contribute to refining this framework in future proposals to improve our collective vision for an open and democratized AI landscape.
