Chapter 2

“I will do what I must,” the enrobed man said.

Wasting no time the hero placed the Demon Crown upon his head and felt an immediate surge of energy. "With this power, I can turn the tides of this war in our favor", he thought. His first thoughts were to go back home and show his comrades this new power that he obtained and form a new strategy. Perhaps if they had others like him who could obtain this power, they could rid the world of the Demon King's influence.

With a wave of his hand, he summoned a pegasus to carry him back to his headquarters. However, the crown had not gone unnoticed by the Pegasus. When he tried to mount the divine horse, he was met with a kick to his chest. Almost like out of instinct, he shouted "How dare you?", and with a swing of his katana, beheaded his horse, instantly killing it.

Immediately he was filled with regret and sorrow. What had he just done?
