March Cohort Special Council Election – February 15, 2025

Abstract

This proposal calls for the March cohort Special Council election to begin on February 15, 2025, at 12:00 EST and run for seven (7) days, ending on February 22, 2025, at 12:00 EST. This election will fill three (3) Special Council seats, as designated in the Horizen DAO Constitution.

Background

The Special Council is a 7-member body tasked with providing oversight, reviewing proposals, and ensuring the security and financial stability of the Horizen DAO. To maintain continuity while allowing for community input, the council operates on a staggered election schedule:

  • March Cohort: 3 seats
  • September Cohort: 4 seats

The Horizen DAO Constitution mandates that elections for the March cohort must commence on February 15 each year. This proposal ensures the timely execution of that requirement, allowing tokenholders to select or reaffirm representatives for these three Special Council seats.
