3.1 Working Group Guiding Principles

The IDAO Working Groups (‘IWGs’) are established to facilitate the collaboration between the IDAO. WGs are industry task forces that focus on building domain-specific blockchain PoCs and co-creating respective standards. WGs consist of experts for all relevant aspects within each respective domain. A WG is a special-purpose consortia of IDAOMembers interested in supporting a certain technology domain. IWGs are intended to complement the activities of a collection of the IDAO open source projects. IDAO IWGs are self-governing entities that set their own technical agendas and plans. WGs and their core team are intended to complement the work happening in the open source projects (maintained under the umbrella of the IDAO with activities that lead to greater adoption, market presence, and momentum. Specifically the role of the Working Group is to foster the creation and growth of the ecosystem that surrounds the projects.

3.2 Output of a Working Group

The work product of a WG can include code or non-code material. Any code material developed in relation to the activities of the WG must be open source as per the guidelines set forth in the Intellectual Property Rights Policy of the IDAO. Working Groups may produce non-code materials and assets. Non-code materials is used to describe assets that are not code. Such assets could be a technology roadmap, test suite, documentation, specification, or a marketing program (i.e. a set of activities which may be undertaken by a IWG to promote IDAO technology and Members companies in a specific market or geography. Example Marketing Programs could include participation in a trade show, joint press release put out by the IDAO, the creation of a logo to identify the Working Group, co-sponsored webinars to create leads for IWG participants, etc.). Unless otherwise approved by the IDAO core team, any third party content used by a IWG in the creation of non-code materials must be adhere to common standards the standards for intellectual property protection applicable in the jurisdiction of Germany. All IWG membership are lifelong memberships. Membership can however be terminated as set out of paragraph 2.2 (Resignation, Expulsion by 2/3 vote).

3.4 Working Group Inheritance Plan

IDAO Working Groups currently only exist in order to execute the trustees IP (Inheritance Plan). Therefore, each IWG needs to have a well formulated IP and an annual meeting must exist for the members to receive at least annual updates on the plan. It is the explicit responsibility of the trustee to convocate and prepare such IP annual meeting with IWG members.

3.5 Membership of a Working Group - Invitation only

As of February 2023, any new member or IWG creation must be submitted for review and approved by the core team. While access to IWG is generally non-discriminatory, it is by invitation only. This means that no one can apply to be part of IDAO. Members can only be invited to join, by specifically joining or creating a new IWG for inheritance planning purposes. By creating a IWG, members automatically receive voting rights in the IDAO,
